Welcome to Sierra Foothills Rose Society Website

The Sierra Foothills Rose Society, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization affiliated with the American Rose Society. The goals of the Society are to encourage and educate the public in growing and exhibiting roses.

The Sierra Foothills Rose Society meets the first Thursday of each month, except July and August at 7:30 P.M. in the "Greenhouse" behind Kroeger Hall and the Citrus Heights City Council Chambers at the City of Citrus Heights City Hall which faces Fountain Square Drive in Citrus Heights, CA. Meetings include a short business meeting, cultural tips from the Society's Consulting Rosarians, exhibition tips through a monthly Little Rose Show and interesting programs on rose culture by knowledgeable guest speakers. Refreshments are served by members of the society at every meeting. Visitors are always welcomed. The Schedule of rose activities and events lists all activities, programs, by the Sierra Foothills Rose Society and nearby rose societies.

Altissimo is a medium red, single petalled, large flowered climbing rose. It does exceptionally well in the Sacramento area both as a tall bush rose or managed as a pillar or arch. It is official rose of the Sierra Foothills Rose Society.
