PUBLIC ROSE GARDENS TO SEE IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA
This garden is located at 33rd and H Streets in downtown Sacramento. It is maintained by the City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department under the supervision of Randy Will. Over 1200 roses of all types are found in this rose garden. Several oldtime Large Flower Climbers have been used along the periphery of the rose garden into rose arches. The garden is a very popular place for weddings in the Sacramento area. The garden is open without charge during daylight hours.

This is one of seven World Peace Rose Gardens established by rosarian TJ David of Sacramento, CA. The rose garden was completed two years ago. It is quite an upgrade from the old rose garden that was there. The rose garden is located in the CA State Capitol grounds in downtown Sacramento. This rose garden is maintained by the California State Department of General Services. There are also several rose beds scattered throughout Capitol Park but the largest planting is found along 15th Street between N and L Streets and this is the one that is recognized as the World Peace Rose Garden. The roses mainly consist of several hundred modern roses which include mainly Hybrid Teas, Grandifloras, and Floribundas. The garden is open without charge during daylight hours.
The Pioneer Memorial Rose Garden at Dry Creek Ranch Parkway, 6852 Dry Creek Rd., Rio Linda has about 100 roses of all types, modern and old garden roses. It is maintained by Adena Kalal. The garden is open without charge during daylight hours.
This garden is located inside the Sacramento City Cemetery. It consists of over 450 roses consisting primarily of old garden roses and shrubs. It is cared by a number of volunteer rosarians and gardeners led by Barbara Oliva. The garden is open without charge during daylight hours although parking might be a problem at times.
