CYBER TOUR PRIVATE ROSE GARDENS

The following gardens are private residential gardens of members of the Sacramento and Sierra Foothills Rose Societies. A few friends' garden living elsewhere in the United States will also be included in the future. These gardens are NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, however, if you happen to know these rosarians they would probably welcome you with open arms especially if you contact them ahead of time.

VILLEGAS GARDEN, ORANGEVALE, CA
This private residential garden is located near Greenback Ln and Hazal Av., in Orangevale, CA. The garden contains nearly 1000 roses of all types but with a strong representation of Miniature, Hybrid Tea, and Floribunda roses. Being a regular size city lot, the roses are planted very close together. The garden is under an IPM program with minimal degree of chemical intervention for insect and disease control. Most of the roses included are modern exhibition roses.
HALL GARDEN, CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA
This private residential garden is located near San Juan Av. and Greenback Ln in Citrus Heights, CA. Most roses included in this garden are Hybrid Tea roses, Shrubs, Miniatures, and a few of the other types intermingled among the other roses for great effects.

SCHWEISSINGER GARDEN, SACRAMENTO, CA
The Schweissinger's Rose Garden is located north of the American River near Fair Oaks Blvd & Fulton Av. in Sacramento, CA. This residential garden is one of the largest private gardens in the area. Every type of rose is well represented in the garden with many landscape features integrated into an awesome rose garden.

MOE GARDEN, SEATTLE AREA, WA
This garden is located in the Seattle area of Washington. Roses begin to bloom in this area in mid June. My trip in early May 2002 was the first of many, The garden belongs to John and Mitchie Moe, long time rosarians in the area. Mitchie is a rose hybridizer and has introduced several roses in the last 3 years. Some of her roses include "Dot.Com", Snow Bunny, Mighty Moe, Marilyn Wellan, Vicky Adams, Miss Alice, and many new ones in the horizon.
