The monthly activities listed in this page are being planned by the Sacramento Valley rose societies. For more information on a specific rose society, please visit that society's website and pay them a visit. Visitors are always welcome and most events are free to the public.

JANUARY	HAPPY NEW YEARS!!
1	No general meeting is scheduled for January. Instead The Sierra Foothills Rose Society will be holding its "Annual Rose Pruning and Winter Care Workshop" on Saturday, January 10, 2009 starting at 9:00AM at Kroeger Hall.
3	McKinley Rose Garden Prune-A-Thon .... (Rain date: Saturday, January 17, 2009) Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM or until done; Pruning lecture by Master Consulting Rosarian, Muriel Humenick, will start promptly at 9:00AM. Address: McKinley Park Rose Garden, 33rd and H Streets, Sacramento, CA. Contact: Baldo Villegas or Linda Knowles for more details Activities: Local area rosarians and the public are invited to come down to McKinley Park Rose Garden and learn how to prune and help out on pruning this rose garden's 1300 rose bushes. Free tool sharpening for the workers or for a small fee to the public by Ernie Magill. Bring your pruning tools and help prune roses with fellow rosarians.

26	Woodland Library Rose Club Garden Tour Event: The tour is Sunday, April 26 from 12 - 5 with a rain date of May 2. The cost is $20.00 ($15.00 for groups of 10 or more). Contact Jean at 662-6735 for more information. Seven (7) private gardens and two historic homes. Lunches can be purchased for $8.50 and must be preordered.
